Good morning. Alex Jones just sued the parents of Noah Pozner, whose child was killed in Sandy Hook and who Jones has used his show to harass for years. A show that @facebook @YouTube @Twitter & @Spotify are currently bending over backwards to keep on their platforms.

@nytpolitics @yashar What’s worse than suing the parents of a child killed at Sandy Hook after years of smearing them as “actors”? @facebook @YouTube @Twitter & @Spotify doing backflips to keep him on their platforms despite clearly violating their Terms of Service.

Hey @Spotify. This is the 3rd day of people asking why you continue to host Alex Jones on your platform without you providing an answer why. We’d all like at least an explanation. https://t.co/FKpaJk3GrY

Congratulations @facebook @Spotify @Twitter & @YouTube! This is the person you twist yourselves in pretzels to defend after he’s clearly broken your Terms. Hope it’s all worth it. https://t.co/xpFfley5ir

In the last day, two small companies with a lot more to lose than @Spotify, enforced their own Terms Of Service and took Infowars off of their platform. @Spotify did not. Good on @Stitcher and @OvercastFM.

.@Spotify gets zero credit for this. It’s just another half-measure by another platform with another set of Terms of Service that they won’t enforce. It is unbelievable that @facebook @YouTube @twitter and now @Spotify have chosen this sick man as the hill they want to die on https://t.co/GBUa5emNy3

Heads up @Spotify @facebook & @YouTube. This is how you respond to someone who clearly violates your Terms of Service. You do it with clear, decisive action. If you have rules, they have to apply to everyone with zero exceptions. Anything else is admitting that they mean nothing https://t.co/oT2aGLUG9Y

Kudos to @facebook @YouTube @Spotify @twitter @GooglePlay @amazon and @AppleMusic for banding together to protect the Sandy Hook parents that have been relentlessly harassed on their platforms. Oh, no. Sorry. They’re not protecting them. Just the guy who’s harassing them! https://t.co/hcZJYzKUFa

For the record, when it comes to @Facebook Community Standards: Picasso is a VIOLATION. Alex Jones harassing parents of Sandy Hook kids is NOT A VIOLATION. Seems normal. https://t.co/DXtqI7TEMZ
Grumpy_Demo (@Grumpy_Demo)
@washingtonpost This is a misleading headline. @Spotify has chosen to remove only a few episodes for unspecified violations. It is a half-measure like the one taken by @facebook & @YouTube to avoid having to truly enforce their own rules on Jones. Please clarify in the headline next time.
Scrapmom223 (@Scrapmom223)
Alex Jones is not a conservative. He’s a shrewd, conspiracy peddling boner pill salesman that has painted himself with the conservative label to stoke outrage and avoid being banned. So far, it has worked. He’s played the social platforms like a fiddle.

Hello, @RokuPlayer. Can you please explain how Infowars, who has repeatedly harassed the parents of Sandy Hook shooting victims and threatened to kill the Special Counsel, a government employee, does not break your clear Terms of Service listed below? https://t.co/u3MhoyflbX
VORPLOCIRAPTOR (@VORPLOCIRAPTOR)
@Variety @Spotify Just another half-measure by another platform that is too chicken shit to enforce their own Terms of Service. How sad that @Spotify has chosen to ignore their own rules to defend a man who has dedicated his life to making the lives of Sandy Hook parents a living hell.

For all of those who are choosing to boycott @Spotify because of their weak sauce reaction to Alex Jones, just remember that @facebook @YouTube & @Twitter have all done the same thing. Platforms are terrified enough of this man to completely ignore their own Terms of Service.

Jones has broken the Terms of Service on all of these platforms repeatedly and each hides behind a Free Speech argument that doesn’t apply to them, as free speech protects you from your government, not your place on a social network. There is no law that compels them to do this.

The amount of time that @facebook @youtube & @twitter dedicate to thinking about ways to protect Alex Jones on their platforms is directly proportionate to the time they don’t spend thinking about ways to protect the people he harasses on their platforms.

@k_musgr @amysac @slpng_giants @nytpolitics @yashar @facebook @YouTube @Twitter @Spotify @Apple @ApplePodcasts @iTunes @tim_cook That’s a false equivalence, Apple doesn’t actually host the podcast. Their app and iTunes are aggregators that search the web for podcast content. Just like Overcast, they’d have to block the web traffic itself to ‘remove’ it. @slpng_giants @facebook @YouTube @Twitter @Spotify Why is the first amendment so confusing? It's protection from government infringement, not terms of service agreements. Jones is a POS, and I find it jarring that money is so important to these companies that they're willing to tolerate hate speech.
